All of us here are sending our deepest sympathy to the Savino/Murray families:
Daniel J. Savino, 69, of Bronx NY, passed away on Tuesday June 24th, 2025, after a month-long battle in the hospital, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.
Born on June 6, 1956, in Bronx NY, he was the cherished son of Donato and Esther Savino.
Dan worked his entire life starting at the age of 16 at the Marina Del Rey in the Bronx and worked his way up to being the gifted Executive Chef, that you all came to know and love for over 40 years. Dan had a larger-than-life personality and a heart to match. His giving spirit knew no bounds, as he would offer anything and everything to help his family and friends in times of need.
A man of very simple pleasures, his favorite spot to be was in his corner on the couch, with his Detroit Lions blanket, watching Breaking Bad and The Sopranos for the 100th time. He was also a lifelong sports fan who proudly rooted for the New York Yankees. His happy place was his families beloved lake house in Upper Greenwood Lake, where he could often be found, on his lounge chair with a Captain and Coke in hand with extra ice and a lime, soaking in the peace of the water and the company of all his grandkids.
Daniel was as classy a man as they come — never flashy, always grounded, and endlessly kind. He lived with authenticity, humor, and warmth touching the lives everyone lucky enough to know him.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather — affectionately known as “POP” — as well as a treasured friend to many. He left an indelible mark on those who knew him, embodying kindness, steadfast loyalty, and an endless giving spirit.
He leaves behind his devoted loving wife, AnnMarie, of 44 years. He is survived by his children, LeeAnn Savino (Juan Rodriguez), Daniel Savino Jr. (Nicole), and Lisa Murray (Joe). He is also survived by his pride and joy, his 8 grandchildren, Christoper, Julianna, Jianna, Brielle, Olivia, Joseph Jr., Madisyn and Zoey aka Lucy to dan. He is also survived by his loving brother, Joe Savino (Judy), his sister-in-law, Kathy Esposito (Victor), as well as many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He will be missed dearly, but his mark on the hearts of his family and friends will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday June 30th from 3-7pm at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home, 3535 E. Tremont Avenue, Bronx, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 1st at 10am at St. Benedicts Church, 2969 Otis Avenue, Bronx, NY. Entombment to follow the mass at St. Raymonds Cemetery in the Bronx.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Hope for Fertility Foundation
