Botox vs. Blepharoplasty — Which One Do You Need? 👁️
Many patients come in asking if Botox will fix heavy eyelids. The answer depends on what’s causing the problem.
Botox relaxes the muscles that create wrinkles. It works best for:
• Crow’s feet around the eyes
• Forehead lines
• Frown lines between the brows
• A subtle brow lift
Botox is a quick, non-surgical treatment and results typically last 3–4 months. However, Botox cannot remove excess eyelid skin.
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) treats a different issue — extra skin and fat around the eyelids. It is best for:
• Heavy or hooded upper eyelids
• Skin resting on the lashes
• Puffy eyelid bags
• Eyelids that make you look tired
Blepharoplasty removes the excess tissue to restore a more open and refreshed eye appearance, with results that can last 10+ years.
✨ Simple rule:
Wrinkles → Botox
Excess eyelid skin → Blepharoplasty
In many cases, patients benefit from both treatments together for the most natural eyelid rejuvenation.
