It's Transfer Tuesday! Wondering how an embryo "sticks" to the uterine wall?
Dr. Ryan Martin of SGF in Warrington, PA explains, "Once an embryo is transferred into the uterus, it usually takes 24-36 hours to attach to the uterine wall. The embryo and the uterine lining have receptors that are made to find each other. When they meet, they stick to each other like a strawberry seed in a jam jar. So take it easy after a transfer, and rest assured, implanted embryos won't budge."
