The irony of coming across this post while scrolling is not lost on me, but hear me out! We’ve all been there. Saying we’re taking a “quick break,” whipping out our phone, and next thing you know 30 minutes have gone by. Our phones are great at entertaining us, but scrolling through social media isn’t always the best way to really recharge.

So here are some quick, screen-free ways to mentally reset:
🔹Step out for some fresh air (work parking lots count!)
🔹Do a quick stretch or movement break (listen to your smart watch)
🔹Listen to music without any distractions
🔹Try that grounding or deep breathing exercise your therapist told you about

Our brains deserve a real break every once in awhile. Drop your favorite way to reset without using your phone, then put down your phone and go do it!

Have you thought about therapy before, but weren’t sure if it’s for you? You’re not alone! A lot of people wonder if they really “need” therapy, or if what they’re going through is “bad enough” to ask for help. We go to the doctor (or we should!) for physical check-ups right? Therapy can be the same thing for your mind!

One of the biggest misconceptions about therapy is that it’s just for crisis moments, for trauma, or mental health diagnoses that movies, podcasts, and other media like to try to scare us with. The fact is therapy is for all of us though. Sure it can be for the big, serious life stuff, but it’s also for the small stuff, and absolutely everyone is entitled to and deserving of therapy if they want it.
