Christine O’Neal, PA-C joined the Heritage Hills team in 2016 after spending ten years in the urgent care field. She received her Physician Assistant training and Masters of Science degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She has an interest in wellness and mental health, and treating the whole individual. She loves the strong bonds she is able to build with patients, and feels this is one of the unique strengths that is shared by providers at Heritage Hills. She is also serving as Medical Coordinator for MANNA Worldwide, a non-profit seeking to rescue children from the grip of poverty through offering nutrition programs, education, medical care, and housing for orphans.

For most patients, Suboxone is a long-term treatment method that, when administered correctly, stops the highs and lows of he**in and op**te addiction. There isn’t a huge narcotic effect (i.e., it doesn’t make you feel high), so it’s used to stabilize and resolve the cravings and withdrawals.

Suboxone is classified as an op**te because it contains buprenorphine, so technically it can be addictive. But the way we use Suboxone actually relieves your additions. Its benefits often outweigh the risks of continued dependency on he**in and more potent op**tes. When you work with a certified addiction doctor and take the medication as prescribed, you will work together to develop a plan for tapering off Suboxone.
