I have loved fall for as long as I can remember and my sentiments have only grown as an adult.

Don’t be afraid of change…instead walk through the falling leaves of life hand in hand with Jesus.

Consistency over short-term quick fixes is where true healing begins.

This is how I practice and teach but I also heard it from a well known functional medicine doctor on a podcast yesterday and it’s just the message I needed to share with you today.

If you feel like you’ve tried aaaallllllll the things to manage your PCOS symptoms but you don’t feel better for very long or maybe not at all, you need to take another look at what those things were.

-were they restrictive, short term fixes that weren’t sustainable?
-were you educated at all on why these were being recommended or were you just expected to “trust the process”?
-were your questions and concerns addressed or were you just trying to “get through it”?
-did you have any type of support?

My approach isn’t a quick fix. It’s education and strategy that takes time to tweak and implement but I feel confident after working with clients that their new PCOS lifestyle is long-term, consistent, and sustainable.

🚨Cutting sugar won’t “cure” PCOS.🚨

Why?

1) there is no cure for PCOS
2) unfortunately sugar isn’t the only thing that can negatively impact PCOS
3) it’s hard to maintain which leads to yo-yo eating (which leads to yo-yo hormones 🫤)

Does that mean sugar is good for you? In large amounts no, but our body prefers the use of a form of sugar, glucose, for energy.

Your body can turn most forms of carbohydrate into sugar and our body even stores and releases/creates sugar from places like the liver, muscles, and fat cells.

So even if you completely cut out eating sugar from your diet, you may still have the impacts of elevated sugar on your body if you don’t learn how foods both positively and negatively impact hormones, energy, symptoms, etc.

And to be honest, in 18 years of practice I have yet to meet someone who has completely cut out eating sugar and has been able to maintain it. I would rather teach you how to pair foods to slow down blood sugar spikes and to find an enjoyable nutrition lifestyle to manage PCOS naturally.

You can embrace who you are and your journey with PCOS while still working to optimize your health. When you feel a stirring to work on a goal, that can be the Holy Spirit guiding you. It’s OK to take steps toward those goals. 😃

Rather than mask or hide you and your symptoms, I like to guide women to learn what their body is telling them and work naturally with their body toward health.

Not everyone approaches PCOS management the same way.

Some believe in the sexy fads.

Some believe pharmaceutical treatments are the only way.

Others only know what worked for them and believe that is what will work for everyone.

Some (like yours truly) have spent nearly 15 years learning the foundations of nutrition and lifestyle and how to help women like you implement change. If you are a part of my world, even as a follower I’ve not yet met, you are considered a friend! 🥰

It’s a new year and I haven’t even posted yet, so today seems like a great day to (re)introduce myself!

I’m Tracy, daughter of a King 👑, wife to Ethan (we celebrate 20 years in May 🤯) and mom to 6 amazing blessings (5 who keep me busy Earth-side and 1 precious soul in heaven). These 3 titles are most important to me and I think perfectly portray my priorities. 🩷

I love coffee and cute mugs! I’m a total sports mom and equally enjoy being a fine arts mom. I have a sweet tooth and don’t let a special occasion go by without a treat. ☺️ I’m a proud Nebraska native but Colorado has adopted me for now (11 years and counting 🤭).

However, you are probably aware of me because I am a registered dietitian (of 17.5 years) turned hormone and fertility nerd who happens to love helping women with PCOS relieve symptoms naturally. 🙌🏻

🚨 You should know I don’t care for synthetic hormones (👀 looking at you, birth control) and I’m not a fan of overpromising and under delivering babies by forcing pregnancy on bodies that need healing (👀 looking at you, IVF).

💕 I AM a fan of learning how YOUR God-given body is designed and working to optimize your health through that lens. There is a lot of similarity in our bodies but no two bodies are created equal…YOU are uniquely and wonderfully made!!
