I’ve been working on something behind the scenes.

Outside of finding harmony with parenting and patients, I’ve been working on becoming a better chiropractor. I am excited to announce that I’ve become certified within the FOCUS Academy.

Yes, I’m aware you haven’t a clue what that means.

What does my being FOCUS Certified Practitioner mean for you is probably a better question.

My FOCUS when you or someone you know comes to see me will be Brain first, whole to part thinking. I will observe more and ask better clinical questions about history and upbringing.

I might even do a reexam with you like we’re starting fresh. Scary, I know.

But you deserve it.

This will also be the beginning of me focusing on the entire family. From our first day on earth to our last.

I’m here to be your trusted advisor in health.

More training is to come within the clinical analysis and adjustment techniques to provide the same level of care I have been for the last 7 years.

I’m so excited to share this work that has been working on for the last 20 years. Bringing Brain based learning to us all where ever we are at in our development.

“Here in the solemn company of rock and water, I remember that civilization is but a whisper, and nature the everlasting voice.”

You are always capable of self-healing. You are beautifully and wonderfully made with all the parts to regulate and restore yourself.

Sometimes we just need guidance and our own self awareness that we are enough and have enough.

Something I recently said to a friend and I think more people need that reminder.

Seek the natural world more often.

Listening to what nature has to say more than what others do might serve you well.

It’s been a minute, and a lot has changed.

Allow me to reintroduce myself,

I’m Dr. Hunter, father to Rumi, husband to Brooke (), and a guide for those looking to take control of their health through chiropractic.

When I’m not home or out exploring with my family, I’m helping people understand how their bodies are keeping them from feeling or performing their best and how to change that.

Over the past seven years, I’ve worked with patients of all ages from toddlers learning to move to adults in their nineties staying active and strong. Every body tells a story, and my goal is to listen, understand, and tailor care to what you need most.

I have a particular passion for helping with:
• Sacroiliac instability & hypermobility
• Disc injuries (rehab, prevention & return to activity)
• Pre- & post-partum care
• Migraines, headaches, whiplash & vertigo
• Extremity issues (ankles, feet, wrists, shoulders & more)

I believe in creating a trauma-informed space one where you feel safe, supported, and respected throughout your healing journey.

2025 has assigned me a new title that I waited so long to gain. It does have many variations from depending on what mood you get Rumi in.

Now my professional title may be Doctor but I will always be

Papa
Da da
Bahhhh (Points finger in my general direction and gasps in excitement)

Those titles now come first. Then Husband to as we figure out this parenting chapter of life.

And of course, Chiropractor. Healer. Listener. Coach. Encourager and guide in all who asks health journey.

I am so excited to begin this new year with my own goals and aspirations. I’m equally excited to help you reach yours walking beside you. Educating you along the way and making sure you continue on empowered to take control of your health. As it should NEVER be defined by any one. I mean ANYONE but you.

Sometimes we all need a reminder we’re not just a bag of bones. Wrapped in some tissue paper subject to the environment we live and breathe in.

You are more resilient than that. I can prove it.

Here’s a little bit about your nervous system and how cool it is.

In times of stress or anxiousness, do you find yourself unintentionally picking at your fingers, or face. Maybe feel a bit restless and need to move? How about you feel the need to clear your throat or become sensitive to the smallest of noises?

That’s your nervous system responding to its environment with the tools it has available to soothe or remedy the change in input around you.

You didn’t have to do anything. Whether you find this frustrating or not. It’s you!

By the way, there’s nothing wrong with you if you do any of these things to respond to stressful moments.

In those moments, your nervous system is simply relying on learned behaviors to deal with the stressor. Something really cool is you can improve upon this.

You can outgrow old habits of self soothing or in this case, developmental regression. No matter age…well developmental age that is.

Simply put, our brain develops throughout our lives as more of an ebb and flow. Not a linear progression. We learn by example and by trial and error. Many, many errors but that’s okay! Because we’re learning!

Hey y’all!

I’m currently going through training via to learn how to best care for our newborns, infants, adolescents to grade school age kiddos. As they develop different moments in their lives will in fact impact their brain development and being able to objectively assess and address this will help our children have the ability to have a full expression of life.

As I go through this training and education process, I want you all to be apart of this journey with me by asking questions. I invite them all as I’m learning here too.

Big shout out to Amy Spoelstra for creating a program in which we can find common ground and discussion between providers so all can be on the same page while caring for your children.

I’m here, I’m ready and willing to provide necessary information, education and conversation about pediatric chiropractic care.

On a personal note, thank you to all that have given towards our adoption. As we look towards 2024, we will be bringing our child home and that is because of your financial support, prayers and words of encouragement. We wouldn’t be able to do this without our community. Thank you for helping us grow our family.
