Sedation dentistry keeps you comfortable during dental procedures. There are different levels of sedation used in dental practices:
1. Minimal sedation. You are awake, but medications make you feel more relaxed. Patients' ability to respond to inputs and verbal commands remains intact.
2. Moderate sedation. You are awake, yet you may feel sluggish or dreamy. Patients retain their ability to respond to verbal commands in general but may require tactile stimulation from the dentist.
3. Deep sedation. You are on the verge of unconsciousness, but you may be awakened if required.
4. General anesthesia. You are completely unconscious and will not awaken until the procedure is completed.
