We have had some awesome growth in our Power-Up Parkinson’s classes since receiving the community grant sponsored by The Parkinson’s Foundation! 🤩

We’ve been able to add 1 new high intensity class and 1 new lower intensity class to better accommodate all activity levels. 🌱

There are 3 openings left to receive classes for free through grant sponsorship! Please spread the word to anyone with Parkinson’s disease in the south Indy/Greenwood areas! 🪴

Last month marked the 5 year birthday for Renewal! 🪴🎉

Some highlights of this year were…
🌱 Receiving a Community Grant sponsored by the Parkinson’s Foundation
🌱 Completing over 150 Power-Up Parkinson’s classes!
🌱 Meeting and exceeding dozens of physical therapy and fitness goals

🚨 EXCITING NEWS!! 🚨 Renewal is the proud recipient of a community grant funded by the Parkinson’s Foundation! This funding will allow Renewal to offer our Power-Up Parkinson’s class FREE for all attendees through June 2026. 🪴

🌱 This class is a small group high intensity interval training class and support group for patients with Parkinson’s disease.

🌱 This class is led by Allison Bagwell, PT, DPT, CBIS, LSVT BIG CERT and incorporates all evidence-based exercise parameters to combat Parkinson’s disease symptoms.

🌱 This program has been ongoing for around 5 years now with so many positive outcomes mentally, physically, and emotionally!

🌱 If you know someone with Parkinson’s disease in the Greenwood/South Indianapolis area, please share this information! We want to use this funding to positively impact as many lives as possible in our community!

The Parkinson’s group completed a modified Murph workout today! ❤️🤍💙
Murph is a hero workout, typically done on Memorial Day, which honors the sacrifice and service of fallen US Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy. 🇺🇸

Finishing up the semester strong with teaching the Parkinson’s content in the neuro sequence for UIndy’s KSPT. Wendy and Lew helped out as patients for the CPRG lab as well! 📚💪🏼🍎

Our Parkinson’s group met some awesome fitness goals this quarter! 🥳

- Wendy and Jamie had lifetime PR’s for leg press 🏆
- Gary improved his sit to stand testing by over 10 reps 🥇
- Jim achieved 6 reps of foot assisted sit-ups ⭐️
- Lew ran a mile without stopping 🏃🏻‍♂️
- Scott benched over 200lbs 💪🏼
