We are proud to celebrate our 500th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, an important milestone for our heart program and our community.

TAVR provides a life-saving, minimally invasive treatment option for patients with severe aortic stenosis who are not candidates for traditional open-heart surgery. For many patients, often of advanced age or with complex medical conditions, TAVR offers a safer alternative with shorter recovery times and meaningful improvements in quality of life.

This milestone reflects the skill, dedication, and teamwork of our multidisciplinary heart team, as well as the trust our patients place in us. Most importantly, it represents 500 lives touched by compassionate, innovative care, helping patients return to what matters most.

Self Regional Healthcare welcomes Michael White, M.D., to the Wound Healing Institute and to the community.

Dr. White enjoys caring for wounded patients. His goal is not only for your wounds to heal, but to help you understand the “why” and “how” of wound healing. He is double board-certified in Family Medicine and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. He is also a Certified Wound Specialist with the American Board of Wound Management and has an interest in dive medicine.

Dr. White grew up in the small mountain town of Bluefield, WV. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University, he received his medical degree at Marshall University. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL. Dr. White holds a Masters in Medical Management from Tulane University. He has published journal articles and textbook chapters on wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy and continues to actively teach on these subjects to medical professionals around the world.
