Greenwood Leflore Hospital would like to thank our nurse externs for completing our 2025 nurse extern program. Once they graduate and pass their nursing boards, we hope that they will return to us to continue their nursing careers! Cheryl Small MSN-Ed, RN, Summer Extern Program Coordinator/Director of Education met with students weekly for Summer Huddle to ensure all clinical guidelines were implemented and clinical experiences were successful. In the group picture from left holding their certificates of program completion, are Miriam Kuhn, nursing student at Delta State University; Tiffany Fulton, nursing student at Mississippi Delta Community College; and Makayla Wright, nursing student with Alcorn State University. A special thank you to experienced nurse preceptors Tami Jones, RN of our Emergency Department; Stephanie Jordan, RN of our Emergency Department; and Frances Hudson, RN, BSN of our 2 West Nursing Unit, who dedicated time to mentor and guide our nurse externs during their time with us this summer.

Splash pads are aquatic venues that spray or jet water on users. They are usually designed so that standing water does not collect in the water play area to reduce the risk of drowning. Splash pads can spread germs and make users sick if the water is not adequately disinfected. So, users and parents of young users should take their own steps to stop the spread of germs.
