In ancient traditions, winter carries *yin energy* - inward, quiet, receptive, nourishing. A time to rest, restore; and conserve rather than strive and accelerate.
Yet modern culture tells us to do more, be more, achieve more, even in the winter months of rest.
Slowness is not laziness.
Rest is not falling behind.
Pausing is not quitting.
Honoring winters rhythm allows us to create deeper awareness, healing, and renewal. *This is where strength is quietly rebuilt - beneath the surface.*
As you move through this season, it doesn’t mean to stop or postpone your yoga practice. Instead, use this yin energy to soften your expectations, your pace, and your breath. Even in a more strenuous practice, we can invite in a more mindful breathing, a more gentle approach to the effort we give.
Trust that rest - mental, emotional, physical - is wisdom for you to glean.
Winter is not a pause in the journey - is IS the journey.
