Here’s why I think someone might say this, most of us grew up believing the only answer for depression or anxiety was:
try a new pill, wait 6–12 weeks, hope it works.

So, when something shows up that works differently, and faster, people assume it’s fake (and they don’t want to research it).

It’s not.
IV ketamine therapy isn’t magic.
The infusion doesn’t “fix your life.”

Here’s what’s actually happening:
-> It opens a short neuroplasticity window your brain hasn’t had in years.
-> It helps shift your nervous system out of survival mode.
-> It creates the conditions your brain needs to build new pathways.

Try these three things:
1. Stabilize your blood sugar early.
Start your day with 25–30 grams of protein and real fiber. It calms the cortisol spikes that make you crave sugar and overreact to stress.

2. Give your gut a break.
Swap one heavy or ultra-processed meal for a simple, whole-food plate: protein + vegetables + healthy fat. When digestion isn’t overwhelmed, inflammation drops fast.

3. Cut one inflammation trigger for 7 days.
Pick the one you rely on most, nightly sugar, alcohol, or scrolling until midnight and remove it. Your brain will tell you more than any lab test how inflamed you are.

Shutting down is a form of self-protection, not weakness.

When you notice yourself going numb, try naming what’s happening out loud: “I’m feeling overloaded.”

You’re not going to love this, but…that $50 mushroom blend you grabbed on Instagram isn’t going to rescue your mood or your energy. (I know because I’m guilty of thinking the same thing 😬).

Supplements are there to help your system, not carry it.

If you’re skipping protein, running on caffeine, sleeping 5 hours, and drowning in stress, your body is already in survival mode.

And survival mode doesn’t respond to fancy powders.
When you regulate the basics first, that’s when supplements finally do what they promise (because don’t get me wrong, I take a lot of supplements, I just try to do alllll the other stuff too).

Start here instead (3 things you can do today):
• Protein first at breakfast. Aim for 25–30 grams…it stabilizes blood sugar and calms that anxious, wired edge.

• Swap one caffeine hit for water + electrolytes. Half the fatigue people blame on “low mood” is actually dehydration.

• Set a hard cutoff for screens 60 minutes before bed. Your brain needs darkness and quiet to reset cortisol.

Here’s what’s helped me stay grounded and genuinely positive:
1️⃣ Protect your peace.
Stay away from toxicity… like fruit that spoils the whole bowl, negativity spreads fast.

2️⃣ Faith over control.
I’m a bad god, like a little “g” god. But when I trust the big “G” God, everything in my life gets lighter.

3️⃣ Fuel matters.
Junk food and alcohol make your brain sluggish. Junk in = junk out.

4️⃣ Gratitude, daily.
It sounds silly, but Dee and I used to take turns naming five things we were grateful for every night. 🙌 It retrains your brain to look for what’s right, not just what’s wrong.

Healing your brain doesn’t just make you happier it makes positivity feel natural again.

1️⃣ “How fast does it work?”
Faster than traditional meds. Most people feel a shift within the first few infusions. Because, let’s face it, who has 4-6 weeks? You barely have 4-6 days.

2️⃣ “Will I be ‘out of it’?”
No. You’re aware, supported, and monitored. This isn’t anesthesia, it’s a therapeutic experience.

3️⃣ “Why does ketamine work when nothing else has?”
Because it goes after the actual brain problem.
