Did you know that nearly 80% of strokes may be prevented by managing certain risk factors?

Some stroke risk factors can be changed, such as smoking, physical activity, and managing conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes. Others, including age and family history, cannot. Understanding the difference can help individuals and families take meaningful steps toward better health and recovery.

Melody came to our rehab hospital following surgery for bioprosthetic aortic valve stenosis, requiring an aortic valve and root replacement. When she first arrived, she needed maximum assistance with walking and daily self-care tasks.

Through hard work, determination, and the support of our rehab team, Melody made incredible progress. By the time she discharged home, she had regained her independence.

She was especially excited to return home to her husband and grandkids — and we were so proud to be part of her recovery journey. Melody has truly been a joy to everyone who had the pleasure of working with her. ❤️
