We want to express a huge thank you to The Bowers Rodgers Foundation for another generous donation to Bow and Arrow in memory of Caroline Bishop.
We are appreciative of those who believe in our mission and are partnering with Krissi and her team for mental health education.
“I know this donation was sent from the Lord. He has seen our hard work and has given us all that we needed along the way to complete it. Thank you so much, Kenny Poston and The Bowers Rodgers Foundation.” ~ Krissi

I really can’t think of a better way to end our operations than giving back at a school.
I started Bow and Arrow to giveback and help others almost exactly a year ago. Though I never imagined it would end so quickly I know it is the best decision for me.
The mental health issues of a community aren’t on one person. My prayer is that the communities we served will realize the mass amounts of people who struggle and get involved.
I wanted to end my community service at Bow and Arrow by giving joy and serving others. My dear friend, allowed us to do Icees and pumpkins for kindergarteners at Merrywood.
I’m so grateful to my friends at the Faith Home for helping me carry this out. Together we served about 90 students and Staff.
Thank you to those who have reached out to me during this very difficult time. I realized along the way that much like someone dying, everyone can’t acknowledge your grief and sometimes you have to accept that.
God has been my constant support and strength. He has grown me so much the last 3 weeks. Besides him, my friends have been a support especially this girl in this first pic. I know that in grief it is quality over quantity in terms of support. I wanted to be very honest with my ending thoughts because I believe it will help our community in the long run and is what I felt God asked of me.
Thank you to those who have given to us this year. You helped us accomplish many things that we provided the community. Below are a few:
Over 40 First Responder Debriefings
Free Icees for over 1,000 kids (at four schools)
Community resources for schools and community members
Mental Health First Aid trainings free (estimated $2500 per class)
Over 40 scholarships for free/low cost therapeutic mentoring and coaching
Resources to First Responders
Office supplies and Staff laptops/printers
Mental health classes for high school students
T-shirts and resources at events
Foster parent classes
I have personally provided over 2,573 crisis calls, fb responses, and texts to children/adults struggling with su***de in Abbeville County in 2022 (not a full year).
We couldn’t have given in this way if not for donations. Thank you 🌈❤️

SCASFAA (South Carolina Association of Financial Aid Administration chose BAACOH to donate to this year.
We want to give a very special thank you to Missy Perry for seeing mental health and su***de prevention as important to give towards. Missy said that she knew she wanted to give to su***de prevention and once she heard of a local cause, decided that was where the money should go.
We appreciate all of those who gave to make this possible.

Kala had the opportunity to represent Krissi and Bow and Arrow at the SCASFAA (South Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) conference in Myrtle Beach, SC last weekend.
Kala spoke about Bow and Arrow and our work in communities, as well as teaching classes to help in their work with students.
We know the financial experience of college is a strenuous one for students and their mental health is impacted. We are honored and grateful to be invited to speak at this conference by Missy Perry at Piedmont Technical College.
We are so glad she believes it to be a priority for others in the state.
SCASFAA
As you can see they had a great time.

An Important Announcement from Bow and Arrow:

It was an honor for Dwane and I to be in the grant spotlight article for the National Council of Mental Health and Wellbeing in Washington, SC.
After being the director of 2 cycles of SAMSHA grants for MHAT, I was offered a contractual position with LRADAC as the Lead Instructor and Coach. The two grants awarded in the state by the National Council are working together to support each other since they are the only 2 SAMHSA MHAT’s awarded in the state of SC.
It’s amazing to see them work together as two very different organization serving Columbia and Lexington, SC.
The Lord led these partnerships for Dwane and I and we are thankful to give Him the glory. He is the healing people need and He will bring it in the way He chooses 🖤🌱🍃
Mental health education is very much a part of His plan for our communities.

Genesis 49:24 says “But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,”
In life it can be hard to remain steady. Life brings trials of many kinds whether it be due to a mental or physical illness, death, school, loss of a relationship or job, divorce, and the list goes on. There are times it can be difficult to know who the person in the mirror is anymore.
I am passionate about helping families, children, teenagers, and women figure their way out of these life events and many others. You don’t have to be a Christian or even believe in God to be coached. As a Christian, I want to offer services to believers and non-believers alike. The plan we use will be one that best suits you and your needs. I believe that we are all on a journey and I want to use my gifting to help lead, guide, and coach you and/or your family on this journey. My hope is that as we work together you will see yourself regain strength, remain steady, find your identity, and feel confident in who you are again. Sometimes we are the bow, being stretched and pulled, yet unsure of how to remain steady. Sometimes we are the arrow, being prepared to launch forward but seem paralyzed by it. I am passionate about helping you and your family understand where you are and how to move forward.
Bow and Arrow will offer the following services:
Life Coaching
Christian Coaching
Loss and Grief Coaching
PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety Coaching
ADHD and Behavioral Coaching (ages 7 and up)
All college students will receive a %20 percent discount for coaching services.
Mentoring for children and youth under the age of 18
In today's society it is so important for children and youth to have someone they can look up to. It is my experience that if they have someone to look up to in a positive way, who can lead, guide, and spend time with them, they can better succeed. I am excited to offer this as a huge part part of Bow & Arrow.
