Thank you for following us this week as we shared helpful tips to promote patient safety. In hospice, Wren’s focus is always comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Safety plays an important role in protecting that comfort. Small, thoughtful actions can make a big difference for the patients and families we serve.

Our team is here to guide you every step of the way. If you ever have questions or concerns, please reach out — no question is too small.

Safety supports comfort. Comfort honors dignity. And dignity is at the heart of hospice care.

At Wren, we focus on comfort, dignity, and listening to what the body is telling us. One natural change many families notice is a decrease in appetite. As the body slows down, it often needs less food and fluid — and that’s okay.

It can be hard to watch a loved one eat less. Offering food is one of the ways we show love. But in hospice care, comfort matters more than calories.

Forcing or pressuring someone to eat can cause discomfort, nausea, choking, or distress.

Sometimes, the most loving thing we can do is respect their body’s natural process.

If you have concerns about nutrition or hydration, talk with your hospice team. We’re here to guide you, answer questions, and support you every step of the way.

In hospice, love isn’t measured by how much someone eats — it’s measured by how gently we care.

Our goal at Wren is comfort, dignity, and peace. Medications play an important role in managing pain and symptoms — and using them safely helps ensure our patients receive the right support at the right time.

Medication safety is not just about following instructions — it’s about protecting comfort, honoring wishes, and caring well for the ones we love.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep every patient safe and supported.

At Wren, comfort and compassion guide everything we do — and sometimes the simplest acts make the biggest difference. Handwashing is one of the most important ways we protect our patients, families, and care teams.

Our patients often have fragile immune systems, and something as small as proper hand hygiene can help prevent infections and keep them safe and comfortable. Whether it’s washing with soap and water for 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer, clean hands truly save lives.

In hospice care, love is shown in gentle touches, warm hugs, and holding hands. Clean hands ensure those moments remain safe and meaningful.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, caring environment for every family we serve.

Comfort and dignity are at the heart of hospice care — and protecting our patients’ skin is an important part of that.

Pressure injuries (sometimes called bedsores) can develop when someone spends extended time in one position, especially if mobility is limited. Even small areas of redness can quickly become more serious without early attention.

If you notice any changes in the skin, let your Wren team know right away. Early intervention makes a big difference.

We’re here to provide guidance, support, and hands-on education to help keep your loved one as comfortable as possible.

For patients, safety and comfort are so important. Changes in strength, balance, or medications can increase the risk of falls, which is why awareness and small adjustments can make a big difference.

Never hesitate to ask for help. Your team is here to assess the living area, provide guidance, and support you in creating the safest environment possible.

Safety is part of comfort — and we’re here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

💙Celebrating National Professional Social Workers Month💙

This month, we proudly recognize the incredible social workers who are at the heart of hospice care. Their compassion, advocacy, and unwavering support help patients and families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments with dignity and understanding.

Hospice social workers do so much more than provide resources—they listen, comfort, guide, and stand beside families every step of the journey. Their dedication ensures that no one has to face these moments alone.

To our amazing social workers: thank you for the empathy, strength, and kindness you bring to every patient and family you serve. Your work truly makes a difference.

In hospice care, love is more than a feeling — it’s an action. Every day, we have the privilege of walking alongside patients and families during sacred moments. At Wren, we believe that even in life’s most tender seasons, joy can still be found — in laughter between tears, in stories retold, in simple togetherness.

When we lead with compassion, patience, and kindness, we create spaces where comfort grows and hearts feel lighter.

May we all continue to spread love wherever we go — in big ways and small — so that everyone we encounter feels seen, valued, and a little more at peace.
