Acupuncture:
Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate love and connection, but it's also a reminder of how important emotional well-being is in fostering a healthy relationship. Acupuncture can play a powerful role in this by promoting stress relief, emotional balance, and a deeper connection
Moxibustion:
During a moxibustion session, the moxa is ignited and held close to the skin or placed on acupuncture needles to generate heat. The heat produced by moxibustion is believed to stimulate the flow of Qi (or energy) and blood in the body, promoting healing, balancing the body’s energy systems and expelling pathogens.
ATMAT:
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (ATMAT) is a non-invasive, external massage technique that focuses on the abdomen, pelvis and lower back. At its core, ATMAT aims to restore balance and harmony to the body by addressing the alignment and function of the abdominal and pelvic organs. It emphasizes the importance of the body’s central axis, particularly the uterus, bladder, and digestive organs, in maintaining overall health. The therapy involves gentle manipulation of the abdominal and pelvis, which helps to reposition organs that may have shifted due to injury, poor posture, surgery, trauma, or just everyday life, and promotes circulation, lymphatic drainage, and flow of vital energy.

T E A M-H I G H L I G H T S:

Please welcome Valerie Brown, DPT, who is a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced training in yoga therapy, functional nutrition, vibroacoustic sound therapy, and trauma-informed pelvic care. Her work is rooted in whole-person, integrative care that supports reproductive health, fertility, and nervous system regulation by helping individuals reconnect with their bodies in ways that restore ease, trust, and embodied resilience.

With a foundation in integrative physiology, neuroscience, and public health, Valerie specializes in translating complex nervous system, pain science, and reproductive health concepts into clear, actionable tools. She offers personalized home-based programs with videos for easy follow up at home, designed to optimize reproductive health and fertility, with a focus on cycle-based care, hormone balance, pelvic and nervous system optimization, and sustainable lifestyle practices.

A core component of Valerie’s work includes functional and reproductive nutrition, supporting clients in addressing nutrient status, metabolic health, stress physiology, and foundational contributors to fertility and reproductive challenges. Her approach empowers individuals and couples to actively participate in their care, fostering confidence, agency, and long-term health literacy.

Valerie is especially dedicated to supporting those who have felt unheard or dismissed within traditional healthcare systems. This commitment led her to develop The Embodied Intelligence Method™, a neuro-somatic framework that cultivates deep body awareness, safety, and resilience—supporting healing not only at the level of symptoms, but at the level of the whole self.

Valerie’s commitment to integrative medicine began during her doctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco, where she studied the influence of imagery, awareness, and the mind-body connection on chronic pain and healing outcomes. During this time, she also served as Director of the Integrative Medicine Network, gaining firsthand experience in the power of collaborative, multidisciplinary care. At Nuwa Integrative Wellness, Valerie is honored to offer compassionate, evidence-informed, and embodied care that honors each client’s story, supports reproductive vitality, and reinforces the body’s innate capacity for healing.

🌱 We’re Growing Our Healing Community at Nuwa Integrative Wellness 🌱

Nuwa Integrative Wellness has long been a trusted space for healing in Gresham — a place where compassionate care, collaboration, and deep listening come together to support whole-person wellness. Our naturopathic physicians and Chinese medicine practitioners work side by side to help patients navigate everything from everyday health to complex, chronic conditions.

We’re now looking to welcome a couple of skilled bodywork therapists to join our community of practitioners. Many of our patients would benefit from additional forms of bodywork, and we’re excited to expand the ways we can support their wellness journeys.

We’d love to hear from you if you offer:• Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (advanced levels)• Deep tissue, orthopedic, or sports massage• Thai, Shiatsu, Tui Na, or Chi Nei Tsang massage
• Somatic, or Trauma Therapy

If you’re a thoughtful, heart-centered practitioner who loves working as part of a collaborative healing community — we’d love to meet you 💚
