What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up?

For me, it was probably Hermione Granger 🪄

For Halloween this year, I’m too focused on making costumes for my kids to dress up, but I don’t know if I’ll ever top my favorite childhood costume!

How about you? What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? 👻

👣 1. Plan your route
Stick to well-lit, familiar areas with even sidewalks or driveways. Uneven terrain, curbs, or dark paths can make balance harder to maintain.

💡 2. Bring a flashlight or use your phone light
Good lighting helps your eyes and brain coordinate balance cues — especially at night when visual input is limited.

🦻 3. Be mindful of visual triggers
Flashing lights, strobe effects, or moving decorations can worsen dizziness. Take breaks or look away if you start to feel symptoms.

👟 4. Wear supportive shoes
Comfortable, stable footwear can make a huge difference when walking on unpredictable surfaces.

💧 5. Stay hydrated & nourished
Low hydration or blood sugar can make dizziness worse — bring water and a light snack if you’ll be out for a while.

🧍‍♀️ 6. Take breaks as needed
Find a quiet spot to sit and regroup if symptoms flare up. Slow and steady wins the (pumpkin) race! 🎃

💬 7. Go with a buddy
Having a friend or family member by your side adds extra safety and confidence — plus, it’s more fun!

✨ Remember: You can still enjoy the festivities. It just takes a little planning and awareness.

Celebrate safely, move mindfully, and have a ghoul-tastic time! 👻

When you strengthen your muscles, you’re not just getting stronger, you’re teaching your body and brain to communicate better, which directly improves balance and stability.

Strong muscles create a more stable foundation by supporting your joints and spine, making you less reliant on your vestibular system alone.

Resistance training also sharpens your proprioception, helping your body better sense where it is in space and a solid core acts as your body’s anchor when dizziness hits.

Perhaps most importantly, the confidence that comes from feeling physically stronger translates into feeling steadier and more capable in everyday life.

Start with light weights or resistance bands and focus on controlled, mindful movements. Always check with your vestibular therapist to ensure exercises are safe and appropriate for your specific needs.

I’m here to answer any questions you have on how to get started!

Your words are invaluable tools. 🛠️

They help your vestibular therapist understand your experience and create a plan tailored to YOU.

Understanding your symptoms is the first step toward better balance and fewer dizzy days.

Ask yourself:

❔What makes it worse? Or better?

❔Are your symptoms constant or do they fluctuate?

❔How long do your symptoms last?

❔Are there any patterns?

Keep a small journal, note on your phone, or even a voice memo. A few minutes each day can provide insights that make a big difference. 📓

Yoga is more than just flexibility; it’s about balance, body awareness, strength, and mindful movement – all crucial elements when working with vestibular challenges.

💡 Tip: Always check with your vestibular therapist or healthcare provider before starting new exercises to make sure they’re safe and appropriate for you.

Yoga isn’t just exercise—it’s a tool for steadier movement and a calmer mind.

We are not constant creatures. We fluctuate from day to day and so does our balance.

Think about your energy levels. Are they consistently high or low?

More likely, you have some days where you feel awake and energized, and other days where you’re dragging.

Balance works the same way.

There are countless factors that affect your balance system daily:

💤 Being tired

🤧 Suffering from allergies

😰 Feeling stressed

💧 Dehydration

😴 Poor sleep

The good news?

Understanding that balance fluctuates is the first step.

If you feel like your balance isn’t as strong as it used to be, or if you’re tired of those unpredictable “off” days, we would love the chance to help you start or continue your path to wellness.

Let’s work together to find the solutions that fit your needs. Your journey toward balance and wellness starts here.

Vestibular rehab works best when started early.

It can be a true game-changer for you. The sooner you begin, the faster your brain can adapt and retrain itself to manage dizziness and improve stability.

Early intervention helps prevent symptoms from becoming chronic and reduces the risk of falls or activity avoidance.

Vestibular rehabilitation isn’t just about exercises—it’s about retraining your brain to interpret signals from your eyes, ears, and body more accurately.

Over time, that means greater independence in your daily life.

✨ Don’t wait for your symptoms to “get bad enough.” Starting early can make all the difference in your recovery journey. I’m here to help!

You can have all the right exercises, all the knowledge, and all the tools... but without accountability, it’s so easy to fall off track when symptoms flare or progress feels slow.

Why accountability matters in vestibular rehab:

🔹 Consistency is everything - Your vestibular system needs regular, repeated input to adapt and heal. Skipping days sets you back.

🔹 Symptoms can be isolating - Having someone who understands what you’re going through makes all the difference.

🔹 Progress isn’t linear - On tough days, you need someone to remind you how far you’ve come and adjust your plan when needed.

🔹 Questions arise - Real-time support means you’re never wondering if you’re doing it “right” or dealing with symptoms alone.

🔹 Motivation wavers - We’re all human. Having check-ins keeps you focused on your goal even when you don’t feel like showing up.

That’s why ongoing chats with me are built into my 1:1 Vestibular Wellness Coaching Program.

This isn’t a “here’s your exercises, good luck!” situation. This is partnership. This is support. This is someone in your corner, every step of the way.

The magic happens in the accountability.

You have the tools. You have the education. Now you have the ongoing support to actually change your life for the better.
