Today is Veterans Day, and we’d like to sincerely thank all of those who have served our country at home and overseas. We'd also like to thank those veterans among us that have chosen to continue supporting their communities as Caregivers, and those we have the honor of serving as clients.

We are proud to have formed strong working relationships with Veterans Affairs and Veterans Aide organizations across our footprint to ensure that every veteran under our care receives the respect and consideration they deserve. Once again, to those veterans in our Care Community, thank you for your service, and we are proud to continue serving you with high-quality home care.

Shout out to everyone who showed up for the American Heart Association Central VA Heart Walk! Our team came out in force to help raise money and awareness for heart health research this Saturday, joining our community in the pursuit of a heart-healthy future.

Special recognition must go to Olivia Jones, our Executive Vice President. This year was her first on the Central VA Heart Walk Executive Leadership team, and she raised almost $6000 for heart health research on her own! Get used to seeing Olivia raising even more money for this amazing organization, as she is also an American Heart Association Woman of Impact nominee for 2026.

As always, it was great to get in touch with our hometown community! It was a real team effort, with a strong showing from our family of Care Brands. A sincere thank you to all our vendors who participated in our Perfect Match campaign to contribute to the over $40,000 donated in the leadup to the Heart Walk. Great work this Saturday - we hope to see you at the next one!

Today we celebrate one of Care Advantage's longest-serving employees: Kaye Bland. As a Care Coordinator at our Colonial Heights location, Kaye has earned the respect of her clients, caregivers, and our community partners by living our Care Values and going above and beyond to ensure that both her clients and caregivers are treated with dignity and compassion.

She is one-in-a-million, and it is for that reason we want to spotlight her 25th anniversary today.

Since 2022, Care Advantage has been partnering with the American Heart Association to bring greater awareness to heart health issues and educate our clients and caregivers on how they can improve their own cardiovascular health. So far in 2025, Care Advantage has raised over $22K for heart health research, with plenty of time to hit our goal of $30K!

This October, as we have in previous years, we will be participating in their annual Heart Walk, where community partners of the American Heart Association come together to walk a 5K and raise money and attention for the cause of heart health and research. We currently have 12 teams, with over 100 walkers signed up so far. We're more than halfway to our goal of walkers, so don't be afraid to sign up! Many of you who are familiar with the in-home care landscape of Central Virginia will likely know Misti Zirk. Misti joined us in 2017, starting as a Home Care Specialist before moving on to her most recent position as a Regional Business Development Director. We are thrilled to announce that Misti has now taken the reins as the VP of Sales for the Central Virginia region, a role that she is absolutely made for.

Misti has established a reputation as being not only extremely knowledgeable about this area of care, but also willing to share her expertise with her peers.
