Thankful Thursday 4/30/2026: Each Thursday we like to highlight a member of our staff that has gone above and beyond in some special way.
This week's submission comes from Shontrel Morgan:
“I would like to recognize our chaplain, Jeremye, for the incredible impact he made; not just as a team member, but as a blessing to one of our patients. Mrs. Sandra is a woman whose love for the Lord is undeniable. From the moment you meet her, you can feel her strong faith and her desire for connection. She doesn’t just believe,she lives her faith out loud, and it brings her joy. But like many of our patients, she also longed for meaningful companionship, someone who could meet her right where she was spiritually.
Recognizing that need, I reached out to Jeremye and shared that I believed she would truly benefit from a chaplain visit. Without hesitation, Jeremye showed up the very next day.
What happened next was nothing short of beautiful: The following day, I saw Mrs. Sandra, and before I could even ask about her visit, her entire face lit up. Her eyes sparkled, her smile stretched wide, and with so much excitement she said, “Ohhhh, I had the BEST visit today with Chaplain Jeremye!” You could feel the joy radiating from her.
This experience reminded me that every discipline on the Hospice Team plays a vital role. Each of us brings something unique, something meaningful, something deeply needed. Sometimes, because what we do comes so naturally and from the heart, we don’t always realize just how much of an impact we’re making.
It is truly a blessing to be a blessing, and Jeremye exemplified that in every way through his care, compassion, and willingness to show up exactly when he was needed most.
