As the school year is wrapping up, and for many kids, summer brings excitement, freedom, and a break from routine. ☀️
A slower schedule can be refreshing, but completely losing structure can sometimes lead to increased anxiety, mood changes, trouble sleeping, or emotional dysregulation for children and teens.
This summer, try to keep a few consistent routines in place:
✔️ Regular sleep and wake times
✔️ Planned activities or movement during the day
✔️ Screen time boundaries
✔️ Opportunities for connection with family and friends
Balance doesn’t mean every moment needs to be scheduled. A little structure can go a long way in helping kids feel secure, supported, and emotionally healthy throughout the summer months.
