As we celebrate Physical Therapy month, get to know one of our own Physical Therapist, Stacey Alberts, PT, MPT!
Stacey was drawn to physical therapy when she was younger. Her grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when she was in middle school. She always felt helpless watching her family struggle with the physical changes he was experiencing. Eventually, she found Physical Therapy was a way she could work with people with all sorts of injuries or disease to just help them live their best life. She completed her undergraduate education at Central College in 1997, where she also played softball and worked as an athletic trainer. Her professional education was completed at the University of Iowa in 2001. She is a Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. At Total Rehab, Stacey is most passionate about taking very difficult cases and breaking them down into manageable pieces. She loves to teach people about how to take care of themselves, and being a partner in that path. She thinks the healthcare system can be fractured and difficult for many to understand their diagnosis, and she wants to play a part in making that process more clear. Ultimately, Stacey wants to see every individual live their best life whatever that definition is for them. Outside of seeing patients, Stacey enjoys being the high school softball or baseball coach for Lynnville- Sully which she has been doing for the past 20 years. She is married to Scott, and they are raising 2 wonderfully active boys. When she gets the chance, road biking and skiing in Colorado are two of her favorite things to do.
Stacey’s Primary Clinic is Grinnell.
