I am honored to share that I have been selected to speak nationally at A4M, (American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine) one of the most respected organizations in functional and regenerative medicine.

I will be presenting on the Oral Systemic Connection. I will discuss how the health of your mouth impacts your entire body, from cardiovascular and metabolic disease to cognition and longevity.

This topic is deeply personal and professionally meaningful to me. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how inflammation and infection in the mouth can ripple through every system of the body. It is time this conversation reached the national stage.

🌸 Let’s Set the Record Straight on Hormones & Breast Cancer 🌸
Have you heard that hormones “cause breast cancer”? Don’t be scared off by outdated info. That belief came from the famous Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study published in 2002... but here’s what you might not know:
The WHI study used synthetic hormones — specifically Premarin and Provera — not the bioidentical, plant-based hormones we use in functional and regenerative medicine today.
🔍 Here’s why the WHI study was flawed:
❌ Participants were on average 63 years old and already had pre-existing risk factors for cardiovascular disease and cancer.
❌ The study lumped estrogen and progestin therapy together, making it hard to isolate individual risks.
Later analyses showed that estrogen-alone therapy (in women without a uterus) was associated with a reduced risk of breast cancer and mortality!
🧠 More recent research — including from the North American Menopause Society and The New England Journal of Medicine — confirms: ✅ Bioidentical hormone therapy (BHT) does not carry the same risk profile. ✅ Starting HRT earlier in the menopausal transition offers protective effects for the brain, bones, heart, and mood. ✅ Breast cancer risk is complex and influenced by many factors (genetics, inflammation, insulin, lifestyle) not just hormones.
