Following the placement of All-on-4® dental implants, we advise taking a few days to rest and recover at home. It is normal to experience some swelling, which may last up to a week. Physical discomfort is common and can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain medications like Tylenol® and Ibuprofen.

You will be invited back for a follow-up appointment within the first weeks, allowing us to check and ensure you are healing appropriately.

In addition to requiring sufficient bone, 🦷 dental implants also require a healthy amount of gum tissue. Our surgeons can use something called a soft tissue graft to increase the amount of tissue in the mouth. This increases the longevity and success rate of a dental implant.

Soft tissue grafts work similarly to bone grafts. A tissue sample is harvested, often from your own palate or a tissue bank, and is placed where more tissue is needed.

Some people need dental implants in the upper jaw but lack sufficient jaw bone to support them. In these cases, a sinus lift is performed to increase the amount of bone in the upper jaw.

Also called a sinus augmentation, this treatment involves your surgeon lifting the sinus membrane and inserting a bone graft. Once healed, there will be adequate upper jaw bone to successfully support an implant.
