Guest Teacher Highlight: Samson Muhalia - From Nairobi, Kenya
Breath Creates Space. Space Creates Possibility.
This week, we have the honor of welcoming our friend Samson Muhalia, founder of Humanure Kenya, to Baptiste Power Yoga Groton
Samson’s life and work are living proof that yoga doesn’t end on the mat — it builds communities, restores dignity, and literally changes lives.
For over two decades, Samson has worked at the intersection of service and movement — first building homes with Habitat for Humanity, then co-creating Africa Yoga Project, and now leading Humanure Kenya, a nonprofit bringing composting toilets, sanitation education, and yoga to rural villages and schools throughout Kenya.
Every time Samson returns to the U.S., he raises awareness and funding not for himself, but for materials — wood, tools, transport, and supplies that create safe sanitation for children and families. Each dollar builds something real: a door, a roof, a space for dignity.
