Glady's is going home!

Gladys recently fell at her home in the adjacent independent living facility. Gladys needed rehabilitation due to weakness and decreased mobility. She chose Groton Regency so she could stay on the same campus. Gladys has worked very hard with her occupational and physical therapists and she has greatly improved her independence and mobility. She was so excited to return to her home this week so she can get back to being with her friends. Congratulations Gladys – we are so happy we could get you back on your feet so quickly.

Today we celebrated the last day of Nursing Home Week at Groton Regency.

Today's theme was summer, staff dressed in their favorite patriotic attire. Staff enjoyed a cookout and participated in trivia and summer games.

Yesterdays theme was Winter. Residents enjoyed a Christmas parade and staff dressed in their favorite winter attire.

Today's National Nursing Home week theme is Spring. Residents enjoyed planting sunflower seeds and enjoyed being outside on this beautiful day. Staff participated in crazy hat day.

Meet Nancy. In April 2021, Nancy we admitted to Groton Regency for weakness and decreased mobility. Nancy has worked very hard with her rehabilitation therapists and is meticulous about her therapy. Nancy was only able to walk 3 feet with a walker when she first arrived but she can now go 50 feet. Nancy is getting ready to go home with her husband. Congratulations Nancy on your hard work to get back on your feet!

Meet Maureen, one of Groton Regency’s biggest fans! Maureen has been to Groton Regency three times with the most recent visit after a fall at home. She says at this point, she knows all the staff and of course, we know her. Maureen is on the mend and now able to walk with a walker and climb a couple of stairs. Maureen is looking forward to going home to her husband soon, but she will definitely miss all her friends at Groton Regency.
