Today, we authorized the marketing of the first eyeglass lenses to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children 6 to 12 years old at the initiation of treatment. https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-authorizes-marketing-first-eyeglass-lenses-slow-progression-pediatric-myopia

The eyeglass lenses may reduce the likelihood of severe eyesight issues later in adult life and carry lower risks than the currently approved treatment alternative for slowing progression of myopia.

Grove City private practice optometry office is in need of a dynamic, organized and hard working individual interested in training to become a Optometric Technician and Optician.

A partial list of job responsibilities includes:

Insurance pre-authorizations and billing processes

Frame styling and selections, lens education and sales

Inventory and product ordering and check-in

Frame adjustments and repairs

Patient pretesting

Contact lens training

Cleaning and organization

We offer a team-oriented work environment and competitive compensation package

Starting salary dependent upon experience and skill level. Salary increases with new skills and training completion.

This position is part time (20-35 hrs/week) Monday - Friday with no weekend or evening hours.

COVID-19 Update

Our office continues to be closed for routine eye care.

We are available to care for any urgent or emergent eye care needs. We continue to provide care for situations such as red eyes, eye pain, flashes and floaters, eye infections, sudden changes in vision and trauma to the eye.

If you are uncertain if you should be seen, we now offer telemedicine services. Please call the office for further instructions.

We can assist with current patient refills on eye medications, ordering contact lenses, or necessary eyeglass repairs.

Although the physical office is closed, we do offer curbside dispensing of eyeglasses and contact lenses. We continue to maintain proper social distancing and diligent cleaning protocols.

At this time the office is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision was made for the safety of my office family: my patients and staff. As always, if you have an eye care emergency I am available. Please contact me even if it is only to ask a question. During this time of social distancing and quarantine, we must all do our part by restricting activities outside the home except for getting medical care and essential items.
