In recognition of National Women’s Health Week, INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital and INTEGRIS Health Miami Hospital are encouraging women of all ages to prioritize their health by scheduling preventive screenings, maintaining healthy habits and staying proactive about their overall well-being.
Observed annually, National Women’s Health Week serves as a reminder for women to take charge of their physical and mental health. From routine checkups and screenings to nutrition, exercise and stress management, small steps can make a significant impact on long-term health outcomes.
“Women often put the needs of others ahead of their own, but preventive care is one of the most important things they can do for themselves and their families,” says Robert Thomas, D.O., FACOG, with INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Women’s Miami. “Regular visits with a health care provider allow us to detect potential concerns early and help women stay on track with screenings and healthy lifestyle choices.”
INTEGRIS Health recommends women stay up to date on annual wellness exams, including blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings and age-appropriate cancer screenings such as mammograms and cervical cancer screenings. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet, staying physically active, getting adequate sleep and managing stress are all key components of a healthy lifestyle.
