⚠️ Big Changes Ahead for Medicaid, SNAP, and Education

You may not feel the impact yet, but recent changes in the federal budget will bring major shifts to Medicaid and SNAP programs over the next few years. These changes could mean:

Stricter work requirements for some recipients

More frequent Medicaid eligibility checks

States being asked to cover more program costs with fewer resources

Increases in out-of-pocket costs for Medicaid recipients

Why this matters for our communities:
These aren’t just numbers in a budget. They represent real challenges for families, individuals with disabilities, and those who rely on Medicaid for essential healthcare and supports like home- and community-based services.

Once programs are cut, it’s very hard to bring them back—and the long-term effects will be felt by millions of people nationwide, including many here in New Hampshire.
