We always take older glasses you may have laying around - we donate them to mission groups who clean them up, refurbish them and give them to people in need!

For the next week especially we are doing a donation drive and we would love for you to bring any old glasses to our office! This donation drive also includes nonperishable food items!

Go Wave! We had SO much fun at the Homecoming parade! We had almost as much fun getting ready for it! We LOVED having Seemore, the mascot for the Virginia Optometric Association, as a guest star on our float!

We are so grateful for the time we had Jennifer on our team. Our prayers and thoughts are with Sid, her children and her family. Our office will be closed on Monday between 11:30-2:30 to allow our team to attend her services, and we will reach out to our patients with appointments during that time to reschedule you.

Our littlest athletes need eye protection too! We just got these flashy, durable, SO COOL and lightweight shades in for your busy babes!

These are sold as is, with no prescription. They do come with a case and stay-put sleeves for the ear pieces to keep them from sliding around! This sizing is youth, and should fit older toddlers up to young teens thanks to an ergonomic nose pad.

We love Roshambo sun wear for kids and babies at our office! Where are our other Roshambo kids and babies?? 😎

UV protection is so important, especially in our little ones! It takes time and practice to get them to wear sunglasses, but research shows us that children tend to get more sun exposure than adults, and protection from UV drastically reduces risks of skin cancer, skin damage and eye injury down the road!

We have a large assortment of heart-shaped and regular kids sunglasses in stock always! Stop by to check them out! They go great in an Easter basket… 💜

Dr. Amanda and our KYCO student Courtney spent the day in Bristol today at the regional office of the Department of the Blind and Visually Impaired (DBVI). Dr. Amanda is one of only a few providers that serve our region, and patients were having trouble coming to her in Grundy, so she went to them!

DBVI is such a wonderful service- for patients with decreased vision who qualify, a DBVI caseworker will come to your home and do a functional vision assessment to determine your needs, and then you’ll meet with a low vision doctor like Dr. Amanda who is closest to you to trial devices to help maximize your remaining vision. Depending on an income assessment DBVI may be able to provide you with devices either free or heavily discounted. If you’d like to start this process for yourself or a loved one, contact our office for an appointment!

The Virginia Eyecare Clinic has been serving the eyecare needs of residents in Buchanan and surrounding counties in Virginia for nearly three decades. Our optical shop has a wide variety of frame styles -- from designer styles to budget eyewear – giving you plenty of choices to find the frames that match your style and your budget.

Virginia Eyecare Clinic and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University have jointly developed a one-year residency program with a residency site at the clinic to assist in the advancement of clinical optometric education. We expect to have a Resident as of July 1, 2018. Please help us welcome our Resident when you see him or her at the clinic!
