It's a very HOPPY EASTER here at Our Lady of Mercy! Our residents enjoyed a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself who brought with him lots of sweet treats to share. Beloved holiday favorites like "Peter Cottontail" and "Easter Parade" rang through the halls as he made his way around to spread joy and smiles to all. Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Here at Our Lady of Mercy, we just LOVE coloring eggs for Easter... but we don't love all the extra work that comes with it, from boiling the eggs, to mixing up the dyes, and getting colors all over your hands! So we found an egg-stra special way to color our eggs. We used fake ones, and coloring pens! No boiling. No mess. And ALL the fun! EGG-CELLENT, right?! Happy Easter!

Here at Our Lady of Mercy, we're a WELCOMING bunch and today, we rolled out the red carpet to welcome two new male residents moving in from our St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center! The two friends, who were roommates there, will be able to remain roomies here in their new home! Our OLOM staff welcomed the two with warm smiles, balloons, cards signed by both staff and residents, and mugs of love. Welcome to our OLOM Family! We hope you'll "Stay Awhile!"

Residents here at Our Lady of Mercy had a special day filled with joy and Irish luck as they enjoyed the Fourgettable Quartet! The talented performers made a return by popular demand to spearhead our St. Patrick's Day celebration! The wonderful day also featured all things GREEN, including delicious green cookies and cupcakes, and guacamole courtesy of our dining team! Happy St. Paddy's Day to all! ☘

It's not spring yet but the residents here at Our Lady of Mercy are preparing for the new season nevertheless! This month, members of our Men's Club made beautiful birdhouses to welcome our feathered friends when the weather gets warmer. Their handiwork was so amazing that some of our female residents were interested and took to work painting some of the birdhouses! Birds and spring are now officially WELCOME!

It wasn't reading, writing or arithmetic today for 8th to 12th graders from the Academy of the Holy Names. Rather, students came to Our Lady of Mercy for a wonderful intergenerational visit with our residents. The young visitors also handed out succulent plants and paper flower bouquets that they made as a craft project to the delight of our residents. Both generations got to spend some quality time getting to know each other. A great time was had by all. A BIG shout out to all the thoughtful students and teachers who made our day here such a special one! ❤

It was a FULL HOUSE here at Our Lady of Mercy as musician John Hill performed for our music-loving residents. The Albany-based artist sings, plays the acoustic guitar and harmonica, and even writes his own songs. In fact, he is so popular around these parts that he performs more than 300 dates a year! This afternoon, he played some beautiful Irish songs for us in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day, including: My Wild Irish Rose, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Whiskey in a Jar, and Tura Lura Lura. John has a special way with our residents, engaging them to clap and sing along with him. He even tells a few jokes in between to get our residents laughing! And like nowhere else, our residents were treated to more than a great show, they also got to enjoy wine spritzers, sherbet punch, and delicious hot hors d'oeuvres! Life is GOOD!

Join Our Lady of Mercy as we celebrate Nicholas Jones, CNA, who has been named our SPIRIT Award winner! Nick is not only dedicated to his work, he goes above and beyond to help his co-workers with their duties. In fact, Nick is often found in the dining room helping to set up puzzles, coloring, and other activities for our residents. Devoted to our memory care residents, Nick is always engaging with them and making meaning in their days. He is reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the OLOM family, often picking up extra shifts to help out. Nick greets residents, families, and co-workers alike with a smile and exhibits a sunny attitude that is simply contagious. Nick takes pride in all that he does, from precepting new colleagues to explaining policies and processes, and welcoming new CNAs. Families love seeing Nick at work, and so do we! Congratulations, Nick!

Chances are, you "Can't Help Falling in Love" with him. He's a crowd favorite. His tunes can melt your heart and even make you swoon. We're talking about The King, of course. "Donny Elvis," as he is called, always packs a full house when he visits the residents here at Our Lady of Mercy. His performances leave everyone singing, humming, and tapping their hands and feet. But most of all, his songs leave our residents smiling from the heart! Thank you, Donny Elvis! We love you!

How was your Valentine's Day? Here at Our Lady of Mercy, our residents enjoyed a truly special three-day celebration, from chocolates, to valentines, and they were even serenaded! Our thanks to the Fourgettable Quartet, which paid us a visit during our Valentine's Day party and performed several songs to the delight of our residents. The special concert brought big smiles and joy to both residents and staff! ❤

Our hearts are FULL here at Our Lady of Mercy! We cannot express the gratitude we feel for the overwhelming love shown to our beloved residents by so many in the community, including students at Lynnwood Elementary, Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church - HUPC, and Albany Church of Christ. We also sincerely appreciate the family of Michael Craig, a resident on our Guadalupe unit, for their thoughtful efforts bringing in 40 cards and gift boxes for our residents on Guad. On behalf of all our residents, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! We love you all! ❤
