As the dog days of summer fade, we're excited to welcome the beautiful days of autumn here in the Great Northeast! Our residents at OLOM love to get outside on sunny days to breathe in that crisp fall air and huddle by our bonfire with a hot toddy to soak in the warmth of the sun. Our roaring bonfire has become a treasured tradition every year, helping residents relive the nostalgia of their campfire days and those precious memories of youth. Meet our incredible rehab staff at Our Lady of Mercy. It's National Rehabilitation Awareness Week Sept. 15-21 and we celebrate all our amazing therapists who provide compassionate, focused rehab care for patients to help them improve their functional abilities and return to their daily lives! Nutrition is one of the most important aspects in keeping seniors healthy and well! Meet Diana Futia, CDN, clinical dietitian for both Our Lady of Mercy Life Center and St. Peter's Nursing & Rehab Center. Diana has worked in the system for the past 25 years! "I have stayed so long because I truly believe both (nursing homes) provide great care and care about the wellbeing of their residents and staff!" We're celebrating National Certified Nursing Assistants Week June 12-18 here at Our Lady of Mercy! Congratulations to Nicholas Jones who was voted BEST CNA Newcomer of the Year! We also treated our CNAs and staff to Donuts... because we "Donut" what we would do without them, lol! 😄❤😋 To ALL our CNAs, thank you for all you do for our wonderful residents!

Our festivities continue here at Our Lady of Mercy during this National Nursing Home Week. We set up 1) a special station set up encouraging everyone to write a note of thanks to recognize a colleague and pick up a yummy box of chocolates; 2) a “Name That Tune” contest where four musical geniuses named all the songs to earn the full 30 points for a prize! Congrats to Faithann, Heather, Madisyn & Shantasia! 3) We also wrapped up Nurses Week announcing the winner of the Life Saver Contest -- Sara S. guessed 240, the closet to the correct answer of 245! THANK YOU to ALL our residents and their families for entrusting us with their care, and ALL our staff, from aides to nurses to other support staff, for all you do! Happy Nursing Home Week! ❤

We just celebrated National Nurses Week and now it’s time to highlight National Nursing Home Week May 11-17! Carol Bulson, a resident here at Our Lady of Mercy, knows about nursing care because she is actually a former nurse herself. She says she LOVED helping people feel better. Carol started out in pediatrics but later moved on to specialize in women's health. Thanks for all you did to help others, Carol! Happy Nursing Home Week to ALL our nursing home residents and colleagues! ❤
