What are Hawk Grips?
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). This is a non-invasive treatment using specifically designed tools that will aid in soft tissue healing, smoothing out adhesions and abnormalities while improving range of motion and decreasing pain.
Who is a good candidate for Hawk Grips?
People who suffer from neck pain, IT band syndrome, tendonitis, low back pain, tennis elbow, shoulder impingement, painful scars, and much more.
What are the benefits?
Improved range of motion and flexibility, reduction of scar tissue and adhesions, reduce pain and need for medication, precise treatment and faster recovery.
What does the treatment involve?
Having a clinician diagnose range of motion, muscle strength, and an orthopedic exam to determine the appropriate treatment. A typical session would include either tissue heating with a hot pack or ultrasound or exercise then treatment with instruments and stretching or rehab exercises.
Patients are typically seen two to three times a week with a day in between treatment visits and generally improvement is typically seen within a few visits.
At Shoreline Spine & Sport we can clinically access each patient and determine the correct course of treatment to address their individual complaints. Dr. Al Furtado is a Board-Certified Chiropractic Physician who is a certified Hawk Grip Provider.
