Our research team recently visited Pensacola State College to screen several women’s sports teams for the sickle cell anemia genetic trait. 🧬

With a quick finger prick and electrophoresis technology, our team analyzed blood samples, then conducted microscopy in our Regenerative Medicine Center, showing how the sickle cell trait affects red blood cells' shape.

This outreach was led by Clinical Research Coordinators Leigh Ann Dodd, Charlkesha Rahming, and Rachel Lackaye, along with Hayden Brown and Sara Beth Bryan. 👏
