On May 18, Huaiyu Tan, MD-PhD, competed at the 2024 Powerlifting America Age Division National Championships (Masters I Division). He competed in the 66kg weight division and weighed 144.8 lbs. He squatted 374.8 lbs, bench-pressed 231.5 lbs, and deadlifted 496 lbs, totaling 1102 lbs in the three lifts.
His exceptional performance earned him 2nd place, and he set new Florida State Master I 66kg records in Deadlift and Total. This remarkable feat not only highlights his personal achievement but also sets a high standard for the powerlifting community.
