Colds, coughs, and congestion are common in kids, but some symptoms mean it’s time to seek medical care.

According to the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), you should contact your child’s doctor if you notice:
👶Fast or difficult breathing, chest retractions (ribs pulling in), or wheezing
👶Persistent high fever or a fever that returns after improving
👶Signs of dehydration like fewer wet diapers, dry mouth, or no tears when crying
👶Blue, gray, or pale lips or skin
👶Trouble staying awake, unusual irritability, or decreased responsiveness
👶Symptoms that worsen instead of improve after a few days

If your child is having severe breathing difficulty, call 911 immediately.

Coastal Family Health will have the school-based clinic open at Hancock Middle School for part of Thanksgiving Break. If your child needs to be seen, services will be available on the following dates:

🗓️ November 24
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

🗓️ November 25
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

🗓️ November 26
7:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Students have no out-of-pocket cost, and appointments can be made by calling 228-385-7405. We hope this helps support families who may need care during the holiday week. Wishing everyone a safe and restful break!
