We ❤️ to see our elders recognized in the local community! This morning, Rufus Smith, was honored with the Philanthropy Catalyst Award from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The award was presented to Rufus for leading with integrity, consistency and care in service to the Gulf Coast region. Rufus has been a longtime board member of the Community Foundation, has served on our local Seashore board and has been a vocal advocate for the work being done through Methodist Senior Services.

Congratulations Rufus! Your heart for your community is tremendous and this award is well-deserved!

Yesterday, we celebrated National Pink Shirt Day - a day set aside to encourage people to wear pink to stand against bullying in schools, workplaces, and online. The movement promotes kindness, inclusivity, and support for those impacted by bullying.

What a beautiful day it is when one of your lifelong friends becomes your new nextdoor neighbor.

Joyce and Tricia first met while taking art classes from M. Douglas Walton in Louisiana. Between classes they found themselves chatting and having a lot in common, which in turn sparked a delightful friendship that would span decades and also spread on to their daughters.

God knew they still had more memories to make —now theyll be able to make them while living just next door on our campus. 💕💚
