Day 29/84 cycle 2/6
Today’s appt went great! Her numbers look good. Keeping chemo doses the same. She will come back next week for labs to see if they are still good so we can go visit with family. Last week in Alabama was uneventful which was such a relief! First time out of state since she was diagnosed last year.

She gets to go on vacation! We will still have to be super cautious bc if she gets sick, we will have to stay at whichever hospital is closest to her at the time until she is discharged. There’s no transferring her back to Plano.

Day 15/84 cycle 2/6
Today she goes for labs to see if she gets to go on vacation or a staycation. Last Tuesday, her labs were good so she started back on chemo at 1/2 the dose. She has had a great week! Please pray for an easy lab draw and God’s will to be done.

Day 4/84 cycle 2/6
The last few days have been much better than expected! She’s feeling good and tolerating the steroids well. We even ventured out yesterday to see cowboy Ken (while social distancing). She will go back for labs Tuesday to see if we can restart her chemo. Thank you for the continued prayers!

Day 1/84 cycle 2/6 of maintenance.
Today was a rough one. She started out in such a good mood this morning! She was slow coming out of anesthesia and then didn’t tolerate her Benadryl. She was fighting us, crying, biting her thumb, pinching herself and grinding her teeth. It was awful. Ativan finally calmed her down and she went to sleep. I am so grateful I was not alone with her today. It took both of us to handle it.
Her labs (ANC) were low again after restarting her oral chemo last week so we will hold her chemo at home and check her labs again in a week to see if we can restart them again. They will adjust her dose until they find the right one for her. She will be laying low to try to keep her from getting sick while her counts recover. As always, if she runs a fever, we will be back in the hospital. She will start her steroids for the next 5 days as scheduled. Please pray her counts (ANC) recover and that she does not get sick. Thank you for all the love and support!

Charlie Ann had a great follow up visit yesterday! Her labs look good so she started back on her chemo. They were able to draw labs from her arm rather than accessing her port which was awesome! Her toe doesn’t have any signs of infection so we were able to stop her antibiotics which was good because she was getting a terrible diaper rash. Next Tuesday Is her lumbar puncture under anesthesia with chemo, IVIG and monthly IV antibiotics. Its starts the 2nd of 6 cycles. She’ll also start her week of steroids.
Thank you for the continued prayers. We are so grateful she is home and doing well!

We are going home! The providers surprised us and let us go home a day early.

Day 6 hospitalization for adenovirus and rhinovirus

Labs increased slightly this morning but still not enough to go home. Last night I noticed her toes were really dry and the nails are starting to grow into the skin. The nurse said It is actually happens a lot. Her left toe is red so they started topical antibiotic ointment, foot soaks and IV antibiotics. If labs continue to increase and her toe looks better tomorrow, maybe we can finally go home. She is so ready to get out of this room! She normally spends 2-3 hrs a day outside playing with her sister and she has been stuck in the room for 6 days!
Please continue to pray for our girl ❤️

Day 5 hospitalization for adenovirus and rhinovirus

Same song…different verse. Labs increased a little more this morning so we are still headed in the right direction. We got to see a couple more of our favorite staff. Our little friend Blaze got to go home for a few days before he gets another bone marrow transplant in Dallas. Please continue to pray for Blaze and for Charlie Ann’s numbers continue to increase so we can get out of here!
