40 days left of treatment!

It’s been 3 days since we’ve been to the hospital so I guess it was time for another visit. Oxygen was a little low this morning and she was having some trouble breathing. She still has the same 2 viruses she tested positive for on 5/3. No pneumonia. Had an extra Breathing treatment and it helped. Oxygen level is better now. Labs are low but better than Wednesday. Watching her a little longer and then we get to come home! Pray her little body can fight off these viruses so she can feel better!

43 days left of treatment!

Usually, no news is good news, but not this time. What a roller coaster the last couple of weeks have been. She’s been fighting off two viruses and was actually feeling better the last couple days. At her follow up appointment today, She was pretty sick. Oxygen was a little low, breathing a little harder than she has been and sounded pretty congested. The doctor believes she picked up another virus this weekend most likely from a family member. She received an extra breathing treatment which helped. Labs are a little low since she is fighting off the infections, but not enough to be admitted. She has not been eating or drinking well and has lost 5 pounds. We are holding her chemo and will go back next week to see if we can restart it. We will be hunkered down at home if anyone is looking for us. Please pray her breathing improves, she doesn’t spike a fever and she starts eating.

We are going home!

She tested positive for two viruses but her ANC (white blood cells) are good. If she continues to have fever after 24 hours, then we have to come back and let them retest her. We are pleasantly surprised! Thank you for the prayers. God is good!

We are here at the ER. Temp went up to 101.4. Port has been accessed, labs have been drawn, antibiotics have been given and receiving fluids now. About to get Tylenol, a chest xray and check for UTI. As soon as we get labs back, we should know if we will be admitted.

60 days left of treatment!

She had a good day at clinic Tuesday. Labs were still good so she didn’t need to get antibodies which makes a shorter day. Tuesday night she started coughing and it has gradually got worse. Today her temp is 99.1 and she’s not wanting to eat/drink much. We are watching her closely and will head to the ER if we have to. Car’a packed but hopefully for nothing. She was supposed to have dental work on Tuesday but looks it will have to rescheduled again. Please pray she feels better soon!

Day 5/85 maintenance cycle 5/6
Things I never thought I would do as a parent… bring the bounce house instead! Charlie Ann has been on steroids since Tuesday as part of her treatment every 12 weeks. I always forget how bad it makes her act/feel. She’s not sleeping well and gets hangry but can’t seem to find what she wants to eat. She’s grinding her teeth nonstop. “Maw” and “Paw” have had to come to the rescue daily but she only has 2 more doses. It’s 46° and raining so we are stuck inside. She’s happy for the moment so I’m going to finish my coffee. Thank you for the continued prayers!

Day 1/85 maintenance cycle 5/6
Treatment day! Normally she would have a lumbar puncture with anesthesia but she doesn’t have to anymore. She will still get her Vincristine (chemo) and her Dexamethasone (steroids). Her labs were high enough today that she did not need for IVIG (antibodies) so it will be a shorter day! This is a first. She did great with her port access and thoroughly enjoyed her pizza.
We will be rescheduling her dental procedure in the next couple of weeks. She still has a runny nose and her teeth grinding is non-stop. Went to ENT last week and her adnoids and tonsils are not enlarged so they will stay for now. We will reschedule with the sleep Dr to see what’s next. Thank you for the continued prayers!

Day 71/85 maintenance cycle 4/6
Today was dental procedure day but it didn’t go as planned. She tested positive for HKU1 so we will reschedule in 4 weeks. Hopefully this will be a blessing and we Charlie Ann get her adenoids and tonsils at the same time. We follow up with ENT next week. Please pray she gets over this cold with no issues! Thank you for your continued prayers ❤️

Day 59/85 maintenance cycle 4/6
Time is flying by! Charlie Ann has done great since being discharged from the hospital. She has some upcoming dental work to be done on February 17th due to the damage from grinding her teeth and treatment for cancer. She was seen by the cardiologist this week and he has no concerns. We don’t have to go back!
We received a call from the cancer clinic today about her upcoming lumbar puncture with anesthesia. They were reviewing her treatment plan and because of the medication that she received last year, she does not have to have any more lumbar punctures! She was supposed to have two more. I can’t believe we are getting close to the end of treatment. 5 more months… Not that we are counting.
She feels so good right now. We can barely keep up with her. Idk what we are going to do after she finishes treatment and she’s at full speed. We might need to start working out now. Lol.
Thank you for the continued prayers! Please pray that the dental work goes smoothly and pain is minimal.

Day 18/85 Maintenance Cycle 4/6
Hospital admit day 8 for Flu and neutropenia
Today was a good day! Her sister, MAW and PAW got to come visit! She played so hard with her sister. They had to take her off the monitor because her pulse ox sensor could not keep up.
Last night there were a couple interruptions when trying to get her to go to sleep and the third time she fell asleep her oxygen level dropped to 85 so the nurse put on her oxygen. Around 2 AM she turned it off and she did not need oxygen the rest of the night! She didn’t need it during today or even during nap. If she is able to sleep through tonight without needing it then she can go home tomorrow!

Please pray that her oxygen level stays up tonight and they get some sleep! Maw makes everything better ❤️
