I was recently asked at the gym, “Why do I work and fight so hard?” What’s my motivation for getting fit and taking care of myself? I do it for me but also for my children’s benefit. I take them with me sometimes to gym. My children have some of the conditions I live with and sometimes struggle with. I lead by example. I show them and tell them, I’ve been there too and you’ll never fight alone. For us, fitness has also become self love and self care. It’s a time to bond too. As a sexuality educator and parent, it’s so important to me that my children understand how to love themselves but also take care of the mind, body and spirit. ❤️

April is Autism Awareness Month! It’s not just about raising awareness, but also acceptance. I proudly love someone who is Autistic or has Autism. I light it up blue in honor of my brother, cousins, nephews, friends and those I have had the honor to serve. It’s so important that we celebrate differences and neurodiversity. 💜💙💚💛❤️

Love this man right here. Marriage takes work. Marriage is compromise, partnership, unconditional love, sacrifice, humility, communication, compassion, patience, and so much more. I’m grateful to gave a good partner at my side. Life has had its ups and downs and even thrown us curve balls. Time and time again, we choose each other. Love is more than a word or emotion, it’s an action. Love you babe!

“Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit.” - B.K.S. Iyengar . My fitness goal is to be a stronger and healthier me for my body type, shape and age. Living with PCOS, Diabetes, Hypertension and ADHD can be a challenge at times. It can especially be challenging when it comes to weight loss and management due to having PCOS, which for me makes me gain weight quite easily. Recently I had the blessing of being able to buy clothes at a store I have never been able to before. What an amazing feeling it was. Whatever your fitness or health goal is, never stop prioritizing yourself! Keep on going. Somedays maybe hard, but don’t be discouraged. In the end, remember health encompasses all parts of you, “body, mind and spirit.” Take care of yourself always ❤️ ❤️

I’m still a work in progress, but growth, progress and success takes time. If there’s one thing I learned during my journey of self-love and discovery is that, “you are worth fighting for.” Never stop fighting for yourself. Never stop believing in yourself. Never stop bettering yourself and working towards being your best self! “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.” - Buddha

Mental Health Matters! I’ve said it multiple times in different post that our body systems are interconnected and it call can be impacted mental health. As Sexuality Educator, I have seen firsthand and through those I have served over the years just how strongly connected our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, sexual and even financial health can be intertwined. Just as much as a physical illness can impact your overall wellbeing, so can your mental health. It is okay to not be okay. It’s okay to sometimes feel insecure, we all have insecurities. It’s important to deal with strong negative thoughts and feelings in healthy ways. As mental health professional, sexuality educator and someone who has struggled with anxiety, depression, has ADHD and know what it’s like to be suicidal. You don’t have to battle alone. I Highly encourage folks to reach out to someone you trust or a professional. If you’re struggling with mental health, know you’re not alone in the struggles. Whether it’s over coming low self-esteem, learning to live with neurodivergence or healing from trauma, there is help. You don’t have to face it alone. Keep doing your best.
