April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
This is a time to come together as a community and recognize our shared responsibility to protect, support, and advocate for children.
Child abuse prevention starts with awareness, but it does not stop there. It requires action. It requires safe environments, strong relationships, and communities that are willing to step in, speak up, and stand in the gap for those who cannot.
Every child deserves to feel safe.
Every child deserves to be heard.
Every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a healthy, supportive environment.
Through initiatives like Hope House Guthrie KIDDOS (A Children’s Enrichment Initiative), we are creating safe, trauma-informed spaces where children can heal, learn, and grow. By investing in their emotional well-being, confidence, and development, we are actively working to break cycles and build a stronger future.
We are also grateful to have Beacon of Hope Counseling Services as an on-site resource, providing professional counseling support for both children and adults. This partnership strengthens our ability to offer consistent, trauma-informed care and ensures that those we serve have access to the healing support they need.
We are especially grateful to the Potts Family Foundation and Oklahoma City Community Foundation for investing in our mission through leadership development and training, equipping us to better serve children and families with excellence, compassion, and consistency.
When we invest in prevention, we are not only protecting children today, we are shaping stronger families and healthier communities for the future.
Let this month be a reminder that prevention is possible, healing is real, and hope is stronger when we stand together.
