Our Story
Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics is a nonprofit municipal hospital established in 1961 under the charter of the City of Guttenberg, Iowa. We function as a rural community hospital licensed in the state of Iowa to provide acute and skilled health care services. We remain an independent community hospital led by a 5 person elected Board of Directors.
As a Critical Access Hospital, GMHC is allowed to operate a compliment of 25 beds to deliver acute, skilled, observation and hospice inpatient services. We offer a wide range of services to help our community live healthy lives, providing general medical and surgical services. The hospital operates the community ambulance service and supports area trauma care via a state certified Level IV Community Trauma Center.
GMHC also provides primary medical care for patients of all ages through Cornerstone Family Practice. Our family medicine providers are proud to be your Medical Home, with clinics in Guttenberg, Edgewood and Garnavillo.
