In moments when you are fighting battles, and you feel alone, you may feel hopeless, but I truly believe you are never alone. There is a higher power. 🙏🏻
I am grateful for the patient that shared with us that an appointment reminder on their phone showed them, in that dark moment, that there is help, that there is hope, that there is someone out there that is helping them fight their hard fought battles, and they chose to live, to call the phone number on the appointment reminder and someone was there on the other line to talk to. It was the answer they needed to choose life in that moment.
Whatever your hard fought battles are, choose to reach out. Do not stop with one call, keep calling, you matter.

🎥 cred: Lorrie, thank you; perfect timing in many ways🫶🏼

Due to time or other factors, the most common question providers fail to ask their patients on a regular basis: alcohol consumption.
Oddly enough, patients are typically not honest with their responses due to either shame, forgetfulness or to avoid recommendations to decrease or stop.
A therapeutic, trusted relationship on this topic could help the provider properly treat their patients and prevent cognitive decline. All that is needed is honest communication from you, the patient, and providers asking the questions.

Have you ever seen a parent over time not tell their child “I love you.” or “I’m proud of you.”? Have you ever seen a parent act jealous of their own children?

Parental envy - it’s a thing.

Narcissistic parental envy harms children and leads to attachment wounds, unfulfilled ambitions, and a lack of joy in life. What drives parents and how to deal with it?

I celebrate religion. I embrace it and find spirituality at the core of my values. I also respect those that do not and always welcome the conversation of how religion has also impacted their lives positively or negatively. I do touch on spirituality during visits at times, as for me, my faith is what has brought me through some of my most difficult trials, in my darkest moments.
