I started Lime Tree Counseling, LLC in May of 2018. After many, many years of working at another group practice, I decided it was time to be my own boss and focus on the kinds of counseling clients I help best.

I love helping people acknowledge the hard things in their lives. Whether that is past abuse, present abuse, or traumas like sexual assault - I love to help people tell those stories and find the strength to overcome it. Traumas make our brains get stuck in alert mode. Helping people get unstuck and move on with life is my passion.

Marriage is hard. I also love helping couples learn to communicate. I firmly believe we were made to connect to one another. We all need safe, reliable people in our lives. Our spouse should be our number one safe person and best friend. Working with couples to develop these skills and seeing them connect on deeper levels is a big reason I love my job!

So why the name Lime Tree? I didn’t want my business name to be my name, that’s not me. There is a poem by Pablo Neruda that my husband and I really like that talks about a lemon tree. I love all things lime. To reflect some of myself, I chose Lime Tree. I think it invokes a feeling of freshness and growth. Don’t we all need some fresh growth in our lives sometimes?
