A powerful reminder that stories deserve to be seen and heard.
At this year’s healingSPACE Clothesline Project, our community came together to honor survivors, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity against violence. Each shirt carried a voice, a truth, and a step toward healing.

We are grateful to everyone who showed up, shared, and supported this meaningful day.

What does it look like to support survivors every single day?

In this video, our healingSPACE team and CEO, Helen Archontou, share what this work truly means from the history behind our services to the ways we show up for survivors with care, compassion, and advocacy.

Through their voices, you will hear how healing is supported, how trust is built, and why this work continues to matter so deeply in our communities.

This is more than a conversation, it is a commitment to standing with survivors and creating spaces where they are heard, believed, and supported.

Join us for our Clothesline Project on April 22nd, a powerful opportunity to uplift survivor voices, share messages of support, and raise awareness together.

Today, we honor Transgender Day of Visibility—a day to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of the trans community while continuing to advocate for safety, dignity, and equity for all. 💙💖🤍

At YWCA Northern New Jersey, we are proud to offer a FREE Trans+ Support Group through our healingSPACE program. This confidential space is designed for survivors of sexual violence who identify within the trans community to come together, build connection, and support one another on their healing journeys.

Facilitated by a specialized LGBTQ+ gender-affirming clinician, this group centers community, empowerment, and healing. You are seen. You are valued. You belong.

Community education is a powerful tool—and few embody that truth like Dolores Huerta.

Through decades of advocacy, she has shown us that educating communities is not just about sharing knowledge—it’s about building power. By helping people understand their rights, their worth, and their collective voice, she transformed individuals into leaders capable of challenging injustice.

Huerta’s work also reminds us that abuse—whether in the workplace, at home, or within systems—thrives in silence. Education breaks that silence. It empowers survivors, exposes inequities, and creates pathways to justice.

We carry that mission forward by creating spaces where survivors are heard, supported, and empowered to heal.

As the year ends, thank you for supporting our work to advance gender equity, end racism, and uplift our community. 🧡

Because of you, we were able to:
• Support survivors of sexual violence
• Empower women through workforce programs
• Address institutional and structural racism
• Promote seniors’ wellness
• Provide safe, enriching childcare + summer programs
We’re especially proud of YW’s Center for Racial Healing, the first clinical program in the state dedicated to racial trauma, offering clinical care, training, and public education.
