To Our Entire Camp Family,
We find ourselves now in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic unearthing ways to return to normal in a world that will never be the same. We are collectively navigating a bunch of “firsts” and discovering that for many of us, the return to normal will take a while longer than we’d imagined. For more than 7 decades, Easterseals Camp Merry Heart has prided itself in providing campers & travelers with memories, friendships, and moments they’d not soon forget. It comes with a heavy heart that we must announce, for the first time in our history that we will not be able to deliver on the promise of fun, respite, and memories for all.
We know that each summer, many of our campers look forward to creating memories with their friends, meeting our international staff, gliding down the zipline, and getting a much-needed vacation from their daily lives. The impact of these seemingly small moments and experiences to their lives is much greater than many realize and is most certainly not lost on us. It is in knowing this that we try to ensure that we can continue to provide our recreational and camping services by any means possible. Unfortunately, it is just not possible for us to operate Camp Merry Heart this year and we’ve been forced to cancel all rentals, respites, and events for the summer and fall seasons.
For the campers and families, camp fees will be refunded to you. An additional section labeled, “Q/A” has been added to the top of your Campdoc health profile to make this process as easy as possible. Please complete this section and we will make the necessary changes.
At this time, we are planning on resuming operations in January on a limited basis with respite and hotel programs and will confirm this at a later date. Our hope is that we will all be together again soon! In the meantime, please also reach out to let us know how else we can support you during this time. Contact us at any time with your ideas or even just to share a happy camp song. We know all of us could use a little joy in our lives at this time and Camp Merry Heart is here for it. ”Give us a cheer Merry Heart”, we will come out of this stronger.
