For October's theme we're heading to Pennsylvania! ✈️👏

During , our residents learned all about pickled eggs, inspired by the Pennsylvania Dutch.

Pickled eggs originated as a food preservation method in ancient cultures, with evidence of pickling eggs dating to 14th-century Egypt and 17th-century France. 🍽️

They later became a popular, portable snack for German soldiers and those who migrated to the US in the 18th and 19th centuries, who brought the practice to the states, particularly Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Dutch created the "pickled red beet egg," and this snack became a common bar snack in the 19th and 20th centuries. They were a big hit with our residents and everyone loved learning this fun trivia! 😋

's annual Commonwealth Cares Charity Golf Tournament has always been a cherished tradition to provide financial assistance to associates and their families during life's most challenging moments. ⛳💚

This year's tournament carried a profound sense of purpose and remembrance, as it was held in honor of Ashley Williams, our Home Office's beloved Director of Administrative Services, and her husband, Stephen.

In recognition of her legacy, the event was renamed the Ashley Williams Memorial Commonwealth Cares Golf Tournament.
