Our ultimate bucket list adventure took us to sunny Miami, Florida this month! ⚾🌴

Sweet Memories residents we're excited to create tropical texture collages, layering colorful materials to capture the vibrant feel of Miami.

Working with different textures, whether smooth, rough, soft, or bumpy, provides important sensory stimulation for older adults, especially those living with memory loss. 🧠

Most importantly, it gives residents a joyful way to explore the world through art and imagination like we do through our Signature Program!

This month's theme brought us to Miami, Florida for a Baseball World Series experience!⚾🌴

Our Resident Program Assistant, Beth, treated our residents to a delicious Cuban-style picadillo. With the perfect blend of sweet raisins and savory capers, the bold flavors were a total hit with everyone.

This was a flavorful way to experience Miami right from our community while watching and chatting about our favorite baseball teams.

Not only is it a great learning tool, but we get to play too! Residents receive $5,000 in play money to invest in their favorite stocks, making it both fun and interactive.

Before making their selections, we take a look at current events and discuss how they impact the market, turning real-world news into meaningful conversations and friendly competition!

We got into the St. Patrick's Day spirit by creating our very own leprechaun gnomes. From fluffy beards to bright green hats, each one was full of personality and charm.

We’re officially trying to hurry up spring! 🌸⛅

Our residents created beautiful mixed media collages filled with bright flowers, sunshine, and all the colors we’re missing this time of year.

After a long winter, we are more than ready to trade in the cold for blooming gardens and warmer days.

Art is such a powerful way to lift spirits while engaging the senses, sparking conversation, and giving everyone something hopeful to look forward to. If spring won’t come faster, we’ll just create it ourselves! 👏

Following along step-by-step as he created one of his iconic masterpieces, we explored new techniques, expressed our creativity, and enjoyed the calming joy that painting brings.

There may have even been a few “happy little accidents” along the way! 🤪

Morina's Restaurant is a perfect example of that and we just had to try it out. They loved the welcoming setting and their meal not only satisfied their appetite, but also created meaningful moments of connection, conversation, and joy.

Our Sweet Memories neighborhood had an absolutely scent-sational time creating their own handmade candles!🕯️

From calming lavender to sweet vanilla and refreshing citrus, exploring a variety of scents made this activity not only fun, but wonderfully therapeutic.

Engaging the sense of smell can help reduce stress and promote relaxation—making this creative experience as meaningful as it was enjoyable. ✨
