Great evening. We finished the Happiness workshop series and settled in for an evening of poetry. Thanks to Agata Kay and Dr. Ophelia Hostetter ! So nice sitting back learning with a backdrop of waterlilies, pond and distant trees. The geese and their babies were slso lined up quietly as if they too were listening.

Thanks to 100+ volunteers, Crystal Wessel of the NJ Tree Foundation, Michael Hogan of the South Jersey Land and Water Trust, Robert Thuener of Artiscapes, Gina Freshcoln our Watershed Ambassador, Camden County Parks Department and the Borough of Collingswood.

I never expected Big Tree Day to be so big! We had some last minute mishaps and the county and Borough of Collingswood stepped up to lend us a hand with short notice.

Thanks to Sprouts Farmers Market for a fabulous spread of goodies, sandwiches and water. And Cafe' Antonio's supplied their yummy pizza including Grandma's!

Our community built this garden. These trees are planted by your hands. And the trees will love you back!

Hello!
What a beautiful day we had unloading huge trees granted to us by the NJ Tree Foundation for Saturday's BIG TREE DAY! A & J Garden Center came out with beautiful mulch and compost. Thanks to Camden County Parks for helping us unload the trees and give us wood chips! Special thanks to Sprout's and Cafe Antonio's - Saturday we'll be getting some treats to nourish our souls! Thanks to Ace Hardware in Westmont for some garden soil and tools!

After Saturday - the work doesn't stop. We have to keep planting and prepping for another huge grant from Xcerces... 850 beautiful perennial plugs need to be planted within 14 days! So for my birthday in May - come on out - to either help us prep the beds for the planting or on the planting days early June. We have some events listed on our page... but other days / early evenings during the week, if its nice out, let us know if you can help by clicking this link to signup for impromptu plantings.

Every little bit of time helps! https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/mgc-emergency-perennial-response-team

We are attending the Montgomery Parks GreenScapes symposium (from Maryland).

Author Uli Lorimer from the Native Plant Trust pointed out: there is basically no land that doesn't contain soley the initial plants native to its location. Invasive species have moved in to all wildlife areas.

That's why our garden design focuses on restoring the space with native plants that would have been in our costal plain back in the 1600's. Or the natives that might adapt with our changing climate. Increase the biodiversity while creating a peaceful place. 💕.

Looking back at this. We hope to save this mosaic that Luke Ogden found and Robin Brownfield is restoring and hoping to get it weatherproof for us.
