There are only a few more days left in 2024. For many, this was a difficult year. I know you've been fighting some private battles, and I want to let you know that I'm proud of you. Even when you wanted to, you didn't give up. Even when you thought that whatever challenge you were facing would break you, it didn't.

When you see that your partner is stressed, your first instinct might be to back away and give them space.

But what might happen when you lean in and offer support? That connection and co-regulation can be incredibly healing.

When your partner is stressed and you don't know what to do, here are some helpful questions to ask:

If you're going to ask "how are you doing?", make sure you're prepared to listen and offer support.

Checking in with those around you and offering non-judgemental support can make the difference between life and death.

Be the light for someone struggling in the dark. No one should fight alone.

We NEED to check in with those around us. Not sure how? Check out these questions below:

An attachment injury is an emotional wound in a relationship. It happens after a breach of trust—particularly in a time of need.

Attachment injuries violate human connection and create insecurity in relationships.

If left untreated, couples are unable to heal and move forward in their relationship. Couples experience:

- limited (or non-existent) trust
- decreased intimacy (emotional, physical, sexual)
- blaming and defensiveness
- low levels of relationship satisfaction
- continued cycle of pain and hurt

If your relationship has suffered an attachment injury, there is hope!

Laura specializes in working with couples by implementing emotionally focused couples therapy (EFCT). Want to learn more about how EFCT can help your relationship? Read more here: https://laura-falk.clientsecure.me/
