Loaves and Fishes Board of Directors and friends recently met to give a bittersweet farewell to Tops Truog upon her retirement from the ministry.
Tops, a founding member of the ministry, has served as a member of the Board of Directors for nearly 20 years. During her stint, she was the first purchasing agent, working closely with Roadrunner Food Bank to ensure food was ordered, delivered and stored appropriately each week for distribution to our neighbors in Dexter. Hagerman, and Lake Arthur.
Often called "the work horse" of the organization, Tops served the ministry with positivity and enthusiasm. She spent many hours organizing food items, recording refrigerator temperatures, cleaning the building, traveling to Roswell and Artesia to pick up food, then delivering, unloading and stocking it on the shelves. She kept up a fast pace to keep the wheels turning for the love of her LORD and in service to her neighbors.
She will be missed in many areas of the ministry and hard to replace. She will one day hear her Master say " Well done, my good and faithful servant."
She was gifted a new rocking chair marked with her name and dates of service. The Board of Directors extends their sincere thanks to Tops for the years and efforts in loving her neighbors and making the ministry a success since 2006.
