Yesterday, Lasting Change attended the Regional Manufacturing Roundtable at the Bowman Training Center, with engaging discussions about apprenticeships, employer initiatives, and the hiring challenges manufacturers face—particularly those tied to high school and college education—and to share information about our workforce development program.

Our program participants represent an often untapped source of dedicated, motivated workers who thrive when given a second chance. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with local leaders who share a commitment to strengthening our community’s workforce!

This week our clients volunteered at Girls Inc. to make sure the girls have a clean, safe space to play! We wiped down and sanitized toys, swept and mopped the floors, cleaned tables and chairs, and even tackled the bathrooms.

It was a productive and rewarding day at Girls Inc., and we’re so proud to give back to an organization that does so much for young girls in our community! 💪💜

What an exciting afternoon for Lasting Change! 🌟
Today we hosted our very first job fair — with over 10 employers in attendance! Our clients had the opportunity to meet and talk with potential employers, fill out applications, and several even received job offers on the spot. 🙌

A huge kudos to Kim and her team for organizing such a successful event. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was amazing to see everyone so motivated and excited for the opportunities ahead! 💼✨

Last Thursday, our team rolled up their sleeves and volunteered at It's A Blessing to be A Blessing to help feed those in need! 💜🍽️ There’s nothing better than seeing organizations come together to lift up our community—one meal, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time!

🥪 Spreading a Little Kindness (and PB&J!) 🥪

Last Thursday, October 9th, from 12–2pm, our team joined the Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown, MD to help make PB&J sandwiches — the very first sandwich-making event of the new Kiwanis year!

With 6 of our volunteers and 8 Kiwanis members, we set a new record of 465 sandwiches made! 🙌

Here’s where they went:
🥪 260 to four different Boys & Girls Clubs
🍎 70 to Salem Avenue Elementary
💪 35 to Girls Inc.
💖 100 to It’s A Blessing!

We’re proud to be part of such a great community effort making a difference one sandwich at a time!
