Today marked the start of Julia's Gardening Club and boy, were the residents excited! They decorated pots, picked seeds, and wore garden gloves with pride - cute! Now they're all hoping to be 'BLOOMING' for nursing home week! Julia's gardening club also doubled as a comedy show thanks to Floyd and the ladies, who had the Activity department in hysterics.🌸😂⚘️😂🌸😂⚘️

Milkshake Monday with Managers is a real thing on our activity calendar, but we like to mix it up a bit, as long as ice cream is on the menu. Today, we served root beer floats and it was a real hoot. Julia's residents not only got a sweet treat, but they also learned all about the root beer float. Kudos to our DON, Alex King, and our ADON, Andrea Christine, for being honorary Soda Jerks,the residents loved having them join in! The root beer float, originally called a 'Black Cow,' was invented by Frank J. Wisner in Cripple Creek, Colorado, on August 19, 1893. Wisner, inspired by the snowy peaks of Cow Mountain, combined vanilla ice cream with Meyers Avenue Red Root Beer to create the classic drink. Key Facts on the Origin: Wisner, owner of the Cripple Creek Brewing Company, saw the snowy peaks of Cow Mountain and thought they looked like vanilla ice cream floating in dark root beer. The Housekeeping department plays a vital role in our operations, and today marked a significant milestone. Our Housekeeping/Laundry Director, Rochelle, successfully trained Rod to maintain Julia Manor's floors, and the results are impressive. The beautiful appearance of Julia Manor is consistently praised during tours, and I attribute this to the exceptional work of Robin Norris, who has diligently maintained our floors for many years, earning us the reputation of having the shiniest floors in Hagerstown.
